Yamaha's 4 Stroke Series Portables
Yamaha Four Strokes even come in sporty, compact
portables. We wanted to make sure that even the smallest boats could
have the benefits of a Yamaha Four Stroke. They start as small as
our F4, recent winner of a prestigious world record for gas mileage
ï covering an unprecedented 67.27 miles on a single gallon of gas.
For 2001 we've added a new F6 and F8, creating a complete line-up
of compact and lightweight portables. Like all Yamaha Four Strokes,
you can count on these portable powerhouses to deliver smooth, reliable,
clean, quiet and fuel-efficient performance day in and day out.
Yamaha Four Strokes are packed with high-powered
technology. Our Crossfire Valve Fuel Charging maximizes combustion
for smooth running and provides outstanding low-throttle characteristics
for trolling. Maintenance-free CD Ignition provides instantaneous
starts and longer plug life. Thermostatic Cooling keeps the engine
at the proper temperature at all times. The Shallow Water Drive
lets you head for skinny water with less danger of damaging your
prop. And most Yamaha Four Strokes feature our exclusive Freshwater
Flushing Device.
- The Shallow Water Drive keeps your prop and lower unit clear
while you navigate the shallows
- For 2001, two new F15 models have been introduced offering Yamaha's
Power Tilt feature for added convenience.
- A lightweight fuel tank with a fuel level gauge is standard
on all portable four stroke outboards, except the F4 which features
a built-in tank.
- Thermostatic Cooling Control maintains proper engine temperature
for performance and long life.
