Yamaha's Portable Series

Power. To go. Pick up a Yamaha Portable by the convenient carrying handle and you've got a handful of go-anywhere outboard power. Yamaha Portables are among the smallest, lightest outboards on the planet. They are also, ounce for incredible ounce, among the most powerful. Then again, that is to be expected.

They're Yamaha, Through and Through, with Yamaha's unrelenting attention to detail. We know you'll be spending time in the shallows, so we've equipped them all with Shallow Water Drives to protect your prop and lower unit.

We Gave Them 360™ Steering, on our 2, 3 and 5 hp models, to give you complete maneuverability ï even the ability to get full power in reverse without shifting. And handling is a breeze with our Ergonomic Tiller Handle with its Twist Grip Throttle.

Try One on For Size. You'll agree that if anyone has a handle on the art of portable outboards, it's Yamaha.

The only thing Yamaha skimped on is the size. Portables are compact and versatile. That's why they are so popular with sailors and saltwater boaters as back-ups. They are also a great source of primary power for inflatables and aluminum Jon boats. But one thing's for sure ï every boater will prefer the big features of Yamaha's lightweight, portable performers. Like our proven and dependable CD Ignition that gets your Portable off to a sure start. Or our exclusive Energy Advisor that indicates your most fuel-efficient speed. You get all this, and more.

Take your pick of Yamaha Portable power, available in models from 2 hp all the way to 25 hp. The 100:1 gas/oil premix ratio uses half the oil most other 2-stroke outboards require, cutting your costs and significantly reducing smoke and fumes. This superior premix ratio enhances smooth operation when you are idling or slow trolling. Thermostatic Cooling keeps your engine at the proper temperature for long life. Yamaha Portables are quick and extremely lightweight. Many include Loop Charging for even greater power and fuel economy. And the 9.9 hp and 15 hp models feature our sleek Euro cowl, minimizing vibration even more. Which just goes to show you. Yamaha, does sweat the small stuff.
