Yamaha's V Max Series HPDI
It's easy to raise the bar when you're the one
who put it there. The day the first V MAX® hit the competition
circuit, it was obvious: this was the performance standard other
outboards would aspire to. V MAX® has been turning heads and
taking home the trophies ever since. For 2001, the outboard that
set the standard raises it again. Now there are three V MAX®
performers with Yamaha's award-winning High Pressure Direct Injection.
Think you gave them a run for their money last time out? Get yourself
a V MAX® HPDIž. And really put on the pressure.
No matter which V MAX® HPDIž you decide to
put on your boat, you'll know you've got all the horsepower and
high-performance you need to stay confidently out in front of the
field. The higher gear ratios add low-end torque. The optional Pro
Series Prop has a special high-rake design with a Torque Control
Hub, to add even more acceleration and top speed. Peak Response
Induction maximizes performance. RAM Air Cowl Induction allows added
air intake. And the High Performance Gearcase is hydrodynamically
designed to reduce drag. As you run to your next honey hole, monitor
your speed, rpms and other vital engine data at a glance with Yamaha's
optional Multi-Function Gauges. Add a high performance package to

- Unique Internal-Opening Injectors maximize fuel distribution
and performance.
- The External Tilt Switch enables you to tilt the motor from
outside the boat.
- The HPDI high speed fuel pump delivers fuel at 700 psi for greater
atomization, maximizing durability and fuel efficiency.
- The High Output alternator delivers a full 45 amps of power
on Yamaha HPDIs, allowing greater use of electronics.
